New Version of HiL Software NovaCarts for More Efficient Testing

Enhanced import options, new writer concept and web-based user interface

Vierkirchen near Munich, 03. April 2024

Version 6.4 of the NovaCarts operating software from MicroNova is now available. The enhanced import options for automated tests, a new writer concept and a web-based user interface on the simulation node improve the user-friendliness and efficiency of test processes for electronic control units.

Development for version 6.4 focused on enhancing import options for models in the test environment. An import tool for an FMU (functional mock-up interface) can now be used to import models that comply with the FMU 2.0 standard for Linux 32-bit and 64-bit simulations. A new writer concept was also introduced in the real-time simulation node that indicates, but does not block, parallel write accesses in order to increase simulation performance. In addition to extended import options for ARXML files, a new CDFX format was also introduced that enables simulation parameters to be described in an ASAM-compliant manner.

Workspace Conversion to Web-based User Interface

In the new release, the user interface for real and virtual simulation nodes allows HTML GUIs to be uploaded, making it easy to work via the browser. This gives users web-based access to existing test projects - saving time and increasing resource utilization on the test benches. Diagnostic options are also available in the web application, e.g. val_show, tableWatch, and logs.

Simplified Licensing via the Reprise License Manager

From version 6.4, NovaCarts software can be licensed not only using conventional licensing but also via the "Reprise License Manager" tool. The local and cloud-based management solution now gives users a complete overview of used and free licenses.

"We developed and integrated the new features in NovaCarts 6.4 in close consultation with users," explains Gregor Axt, Director Testing Solutions at MicroNova. "We optimized the software in numerous areas to ensure that NovaCarts test systems continue to deliver efficient and high-quality testing."
