“Architect Tours” at MicroNova

Pfaffenhofen architects present showcase project

Bavarian Chamber of Architects selects the software and systems vendor’s new building in Vierkirchen as its showpiece / Guided tours and company presentations for interested visitors

The new building for the software and systems vendor MicroNova in Vierkirchen in the district of Dachau, designed by the architectural firm “Architekturbüro Obereisenbuchner” from Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, was selected by the Bavarian Chamber of Architects as a showpiece for “Architect Tours 2019”.

On June 29 and 30, 2019, architects, builders and users will lead a tour through the “Business Park Vierkirchen” at Unterfeldring 6.

On the last weekend in June, from 2 pm to 4 pm, anybody interested will be able to take a look at MicroNova’s office building, completed in 2018. Guided tours will take place every half hour. For more than 20 years, the “Architect Tours” have been giving interested visitors the opportunity to view innovative Bavarian architectural projects.

“Completing this building on time and within budget was a feat of strength at a time when planners and construction firms were working at full capacity and building costs spiraling,” explains Jetzendorf-born Josef W. Karl, owner of MicroNova. “To be honored by the Chamber of Architects as a model project makes us all proud – building owners and users alike. I would therefore once again like to thank all those involved in the construction project for their fantastic and groundbreaking work.”

Amongst other things, the architects and builders developed an innovative energy concept for the Business Park Vierkirchen. The external shading reduces the amount the rooms heat up in the summer thanks to the gap with the façade. Burglar-proof ventilation windows also ensure cooling during the night, which relieves the air conditioning system and saves energy.

“Because we also have internal glare protection, the external shading can remain up in winter. The solar radiation then assists the heating system, which works with the waste heat from a neighboring biogas plant,” explains Rita Obereisenbuchner. In addition, preparation is underway to install a photovoltaic system.

Spacious architecture, bees, and space for new employees

From top to bottom: The 4,000 square meter site offers enough space for the campus-like architecture of the Business Park Vierkirchen. The entire structure comprises three stories with roughly 2,500 square meters of office space. This means that there is ample space for around 120 employees in the new building with reserves for a planned further increase in personnel also having been taken into account.

The generous outdoor areas include ample parking spaces and a flower meadow planned from the very beginning. In the midst of all this, two bee colonies were housed here in spring 2019. According to the supervising beekeeper Philipp Blumenschein, a honey yield of about 15 to 50 kilos per year is possible, depending on the vegetation. The company will be holding a competition in the fall.

“We are happy to open our company for the architectural tours and are delighted to be able to talk to interested visitors in this way,” adds Josef W. Karl. “In addition, our Human Resources department will be available to accept applications and for general career and application tips.” CEO Orazio Ragonesi adds: “Our order situation is very good, we need to expand our team.”

A total of about 140 employees currently work in the two buildings in Vierkirchen. One of the company’s divisions develops test solutions for the automotive industry, for example for autonomous and electrically powered vehicles; another has been successfully working on management software for mobile phone providers for many years, with the 5G mobile standard currently a hot topic.

Ragonesi continued: “We have always grown, even in years of economic crisis. We are currently looking for new colleagues, partly as a result of the transition to e-mobility. We have still space for new talent in the Business Park Vierkirchen. However, if it starts to get crowded, we also have enough space for a second construction phase and great architects and construction firms at the ready.”
