The OpenGate© platform used has been developed by amplía))) since 2005, turning what were originally customer-specific projects into a comprehensive solution that contains all the components required for IoT scenarios: database and data management, application development and integration, as well as analytics. This framework also forms the basis for the eSIM/SIM management software, which amplía))) also developed in order to operate, manage and monitor eSIMs as well as SIMs in connection with IoT use cases.
The framework provides the basis for three ready-made cloud-based solutions from the Spanish company, which MicroNova can implement very quickly, including tailored customization: Predictive Maintenance, Asset Tracking & Monitoring, and Smart Metering.
Predictive Maintenance is a solution for companies looking to monitor machinery and equipment at their customers’ sites as well as their own machinery. As one of the core components of Industry 4.0, Predictive Maintenance takes a look-ahead approach and proactively maintains machines and plants. In the future, maintenance and servicing will no longer be carried out at fixed, regular intervals; predictive maintenance will kick in at an earlier stage. For example, immediate action can be taken if wear is detected on a component. This avoids unnecessary maintenance, successively reduces downtimes, and significantly increases productive operation as a result.
Asset Tracking & Monitoring enables companies to track assets at any time and from anywhere, from spare parts to containers. Tracking is also possible along extensive process chains. The solution is primarily aimed at the logistics industry and includes ready-to-use devices, communication protocols, and a preconfigured deployment version of the OpenGate© platform.
Smart Metering is an integrated solution that is particularly suitable for measuring, analyzing, and optimizing the consumption of electricity, water or gas. Used in residential, industrial, or commercial environments, it can even perform smart metering functions in multi-apartment buildings, etc., enabling a corresponding cost reduction by optimizing energy consumption. The solution is aimed at energy suppliers that need an infrastructure for collecting and processing data.
Established in amplía)))’s Home Market
Currently, a total of over twelve million instances are managed with amplía))) solutions, with more than ten million daily operations. The company’s customers include Endesa, the Spanish power generation and energy supply utility based in Madrid. amplía))) would now like to repeat these successes in Germany: “We’re looking forward to delivering great IoT projects through our collaboration. Our clients will really benefit from this. MicroNova’s outcome-driven approach and amplía)))’s leading-edge technology both represent the expansion of new business models and the optimization of existing operations,” says Javier Martinez, amplía)))’s CEO.
“Many companies, especially in the German-speaking world, have reached an incredibly high level of productivity. Conventional solutions and concepts offer little scope for improvement. Cutting-edge, innovative approaches are needed if we are to continue to keep pace with international competition. This is exactly what we can offer through our cooperation with amplía))),” says Dr. Klaus Eder, COO at MicroNova AG. “It is important to achieve results quickly and in an agile manner. This is precisely what amplía)))’s turnkey solutions make possible.”
